Remembrance Day in Murrurundi was a solemn affair on Saturday as a handful of residents turned up to pay respects to wars’ deceased.

Officiated by Gary Vale and sermon by Reverend Barbara Morgan, the affair was depleted as schoolkids held a memorial service on Friday at their schools.

About 16 people attended the Murrurundi Service which was performed at the memorial gates in the edge of the town’s Bowling Club.

As usual the service was accompanied by a contingent of mounted Light Horse including Warren Bramley and Kevin Taylor on horseback while Dell Ross and  Ian Vaughan were suited up for the occasion.
