Scone Golf: Aug 25 – 27

AT Scone Golf Course on Saturday, August 27 an 18 Hole Individual and 2B Stableford was played for the A. E. Shaddock Memorial Day.

Noel Kelly and Charlie Manning were the trophy donors and the recipients were Glen Tarrant and Mick Alsleben who had a very good 44 points in heavy conditions.

They beat Troy Collison and David Adams on a countback. Glen, David and Mick had the best three individual scores of the day with 39, 37 and 36 to also gain balls, along with Duncan Yuille, Matt Langan, Simon Groom 34, Gordon Halliday and Tony Bowd all on 34, Bud Vero (Vis) and Troy Collison 33 points. The NTP on the 2nd / 11th was won by Steve Morse 1.6 metres, and on the 8th / 17th by Gordon Halliday 1.6 metres.

On Saturday, September 3 the men will play for the Scone RSL Group Monthly Mug as an 18 hole stroke / stableford event.

The Scone ladies are not having a great deal of success in playing the GNSW 4BBB event as it again was postponed on August 25 due to inclement weather. A fourth attempt will be made on September 15.

On Thursday, September 1 the 6th Golf NSW and Monthly Medal will be played as an 18 hole stroke / stableford for the Melanie’s Jewellers Trophy.

Scone Open is fast approaching with the major mixed event scheduled for Saturday September 17 for the Hunter Valley Printing Cup.

This will be followed by the men’s open day on Sunday September 18 for the A. G. White Cup and the Bob Robb Cup.
