On Saturday, February 11 the golf competition at Scone was completed by 12 o’clock due to the excessive heat.

An 18 Hole Stableford was played for the David Bradshaw and Rod Vaughan Trophy.

A small field played with Duncan Yuille having the round of the day with 41 points to be the winner.

Russell Nicholls had 39 to beat David Druce on a countback for the runner’s up prize, and those three were the ball winners.

Jeff Harrington won the NTP on the 2nd / 11th with 1.84 metres and Steve Morse won 8th / 17th with 5.43 metres.

In the final of the Summer Knockout David Druce defeated Col Solway 1 up.

On Saturday, February 18, an 18 Hole Stableford will be played for the Rod Spratt and Kerry Benning Trophy.

It will also be the third round of the Summer Shield which was postponed.

There is still time to enter the Kevan’s Knockout using the nomination sheet on the golf noticeboard.

In the HRDGA Pennants, round three was cancelled due to the heat.

On Sunday, February 19 the Senior team will travel to Denman to play Cessnock.

On a humid morning seven ladies played the back nine on February 9.

Judy Carmody had 18 points to win the The Nook Café voucher.

Lyn Banks 17, Sarah Brooks 16, Narelle Rutter 16 and Joan Shaw with 15 points won balls.

On Thursday, February 16 the last of the 9 hole competitions will be played for a McDonalds voucher.

Appreciation is extended to all sponsors of the Café Summer Comp as the Scone ladies have all enjoyed their golf and the social gatherings that followed each week.

On Wednesday, February 8 a good field again played in the Red Tee Challenge 9 hole competition.

This week David O’ Brien was on the winners list with 24 points.

He managed to beat Scott Reid on a countback, whilst Jamie Catzikiris had 22 points to win third prize on a countback.

Players looking for further social golf opportunities should look forward to a 9 Hole 4 Person Ambrose on Sunday February 26.

This is open to all players with a shotgun start at 2.30pm.
