ON Saturday, January 14 even the early players had to contend with heat and wind with the temperature over 30 degrees at 7am!

With the course being affected by drying winds recently, many players found themselves hitting second shots from rare places.

In the 2 Ball Worstball event for the Jeff Harrington and Tony O’Neill Trophy, Sean Constable and Brad Hockley had 31 points to be the winners on a countback.

Neil Clydsdale had the best individual score of the day with 42 points to win C Grade on a countback from George Campbell.

Mick Alsleben also had 42 to take the A Grade prize, and George Davidson on 37 points won B Grade.

The NTP’s were won by Steve Morse 1.98 metres on the 2nd / 11th and by Scott Shann 5.23 metres on the 8th / 17th.

Balls were won by players who had 35 or better going to Neil Clydsdale, Mick Alsleben, George Campbell 42, Steve Morse 41, Brad Hockley 40, Col Solway, Sean Constable 39, Graham White, Stuart Sheldrake 38, George Davidson 37 and Alan Wood 35 on a countback.

On Saturday January 21 the annual 2 Man Ambrose will be played for the NAGA Cup and Mug sponsored by Red Palmer and Neil Clydsdale.

Players are reminded that entries for the Snyman Four Ball Knockout close on February 4.

In the ladies 18 Hole Stableford Julie Leckie continued her good form to have 39 points.

Lyn Banks and Kerry McLennan had 35 points each to win balls.

On Thursday, January 12, six ladies went out early on a steamy day to play the front 9.

Doon MacCallum made a return to golf after a layoff and had 18 points to win the McDonalds Café voucher.

Ball winners were Joan Shaw, Lyn Banks 17 and Wendy Clift 16 points.

On Thursday, January 19 the ladies will play for the Asser House prize.

In the Wednesday competition it was pleasing to see three new winners.

Cam Bonney was first with 29 points, Kal Brownlee second with 28 points and third was Rod Brown on 27 points.

A course working bee has been scheduled for Sunday January 22 with an 8am start so come along and lend a hand for a couple of hours.
