Scone Golf: July 23

IT was a difficult day on the golf course at Scone on Saturday, July 23 after the rain during the week.

The event was an 18 Hole Stableford for the Jack Tilse Trophy and it was the Was Whyte and Herb Tilse Memorial Day.

Mick Alsleben won the Was Whyte Trophy with 35 points.

Jeff Harrington retained the Herb Tilse Trophy which he also won last year, for the best scratch stableford score.

The NTP on the 2nd/ 11th went to Clayton Rogers, 4.25 metres and on the 8th/ 17th to Kevin Thompson at 2.87 metres.

The ball winners were: Mick Alsleben 35, Mark Hayes 34, Jeff Harrington, Trevor Wilson 33, Gordon Halliday, Jack Tilse, Les Cottam 32, Peter Cotterall, David Druce 31, Simon Groom, Kevin Thompson 30, and Steve Morse 29 points.

On Saturday, July 30 the men will play an interesting event put on by Liz and Paul Smart.

The golfers will play an Ambrose FB Stableford which is a new event on the calendar.

On Thursday, July 21 the ladies event was deferred due to the wet condition of the course.
