ON Saturday, March 26 a good field of men golfers at Scone played an 18 Hole Stableford for the Curtis & Irving Trophy.

There were many high scores and 39 points by three players Duncan Yuille, John Roe and Tony Bowd, gained them prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.

The NTP on the 2nd / 11th was won by David Druce 1.61 metres and by John Roe 4.3 metres on the 8th / 17th.

The ball winners were: Duncan Yuille, John Roe, Tony Bowd 39, Les Cottam 38, Scott Reid, Mark Hayes 37, Simon Groom, Scott Shann 35, Mac Dawson, John Haydon (visitor), Tony O’Neill 34, Geoff Barton, Ross Banks and Trevor Wilson 33 on a countback.

In the Captain’s Trophy John Roe had two great rounds to be the convincing winner on 81 points (42, 39) from Mark Hayes 73 (37, 36).

On Saturday, April 2 the men will play an 18 Hole Stroke / Stableford for the Scone RSL Group Monthly Mug, whilst on Sunday, April 3 the Foursomes Championships will be played in 3 Grades over 18 holes.

On Thursday March 24 the Scone lady golfers played an 18 Hole Stableford for the June Jukes Trophy.

The winner was Sarah Brooks who had another fine round to have 39 points.

The runner up was Ann Cameron on 36 points. Jo Brown won the NTP on the 17th with a shot to 2.91 metres.

Balls went to: Sarah Brooks 39, Ann Cameron 36, Narelle Rutter, Lyn Banks 35 and Fiona Groom 34 on a countback.

The ladies are looking forward to Scone Open Day to be held on March 31, which has been very well supported by numerous clubs throughout the valley.

On Monday, April 4, the ladies pennant team will head to Branxton Golf Course to play Cypress Lakes in round three of the series.

Thursday, April 7 will see the playing of the second GNSW and Monthly Medal for the Melanie’s Jewellers Trophy.
