The competition was contested by eight clubs including Hunter Valley Golf and Country Club, the Vintage, Cypress Lakes, Cessnock, Branxton, Singleton, Muswellbrook and Scone, with the winner being decided by a first past the post point score system.

The Scone ladies were leading by one point from The Vintage going into the final round.

Scone had recorded four wins and two drawn matches during the season were to play Singleton and they required either a win or a draw to win the title.

Scone won the match four and a half to one and a half and this enabled them to win their first Hunter River District Pennant.

On the day the team had wins to Lyn Banks 5 & 4, Sue Watts 2 & 1, Kerry McLennan 2 & 1, Kathy Robinson 3 & 1, with a square to Julie Leckie and a loss to Juke Jukes.

The Scone team was undefeated during the season and were extremely pleased to win the HRGDA pennant for the first time for their club.

The presentation night for the HRDGA ladies and men’s seasons will be held at Singleton on Saturday May 27.
