ANNIE Woods has set the score to chase for the year at Scone Golf Club when she had a stunning 59 nett to win the Melanie’s Jewellers Trophy and the Monthly Medal on March 2.

This is Annie’s first medal win and is just reward for her efforts over the last 15 months of playing.

Her round of 98 gross equated to 50 stableford points. The runner up, with a score which normally would have resulted in a win, was Judy Carmody who had a great 68 nett.

Balls went to Annie Woods 50, Judy Carmody 41, Narelle Rutter 39, Fiona Groom and Lyn Banks 36 on a countback from Wendy Clift. Lyn also picked up the NTP on the 17th.

On Thursday March 9 the ladies will play an 18 Hole Stableford for Fiona Groom’s trophy.

In the HRDGA ladies pennant on Monday March 6, the team travelled to Singleton to play last year’s winners, The Vintage.

The match was squared with 3 wins to each team.

Wins were recorded by Lyn Banks 2 and 1, Kerry McLennan 6 and 5, and Sarah Brooks 3 and 2 in her first representative match.

June Jukes, Kathy Robinson and Pam Manning went down narrowly with Pam being beaten on the 18th.

There is now a break until round three on April 3.

On Saturday March 4 the men played an 18 Hole Stroke / Stableford for the Scone RSL Group Monthly Mug. The Mug winner and B Grade, was Adrian Fuller who had a very good round of 68 nett.

A Grade was won by Simon Groom with 36 points whilst Jim Elder won C Grade winners with 37 points.

Sean Constable won the NTP on the 2nd / 11th with a shot to 1.48 metres whilst on the 8th / 17th Tom Thompson was the closest at 4.24 metres.

Four ladies played in the stableford event with Kerry McLennan having the best score of 30 points.

On Sunday March 5 the senior pennant team played Denman at Murrurundi and were defeated 3-0.

This result has put them in equal second place with one round to play at Branxton against Maitland on Sunday March 12.

Semi-finals will then be played from the top two teams in each division.

On Saturday March 11 the event will be an 18 Hole 2B and Individual Par for Sean Constable and Grant Taylor’s trophy.

The Isis Motel FBBB Championships have been postponed to July 1 and 15.

The Snyman 4B knockout matches need to be played as soon as possible, and the entries for the Kevan’s Knockout also need to be in by Saturday March 11.
