Hedley Wins Kevans Knockout for Second Time

Wayne Hedley defeated Jake Teague in the final of Scone Golf Club’s Kevans Knockout to become only one of six players to win the event twice in its 44 year history.

On Saturday, December 3 the Scone RSL Group monthly Mug was won by Glen Tarrant who had a fabulous 67 nett, which also gave him a lead in the Summer Cup.

The A Grade winner was Brenan Reeves who had 40 points and C Grade was also won with 40 points by Col Solway.

Warren Styles won the NTP on the 2nd / 11th with  2.60 metres and Brenan Reeves hit a fine shot to 0.91 metres on the 8th / 17th to gain him a jackpot of 12 balls.

Players needed a very good score to win a ball and this was achieved by: Glen Tarrant 41, Brenan Reeves, David Druce, Col Solway 40, Alan Wood, Gordon Halliday, Ross Banks, Charlie Manning 38, Lindsay Hodge, Jeff Harrington, Tom Thompson 37 and Jim Elder 36 on a countback.

On Saturday, December 10 the event will be an 18 Hole Stableford for the Scone Sports Trophy, and it will also be round two of the Summer Cup.

In the Red Tee Challenge on Wednesday, the top scores and prize winners were 1st Nick Taylor 32 points, 2nd David Walters 28 points and 3rd Dave O’Brien 28 points.

On Thursday, December 1, the lades played a 9 Hole Stableford on the back 9 for a Royal Hotel Café prize. The winner was Jo Brown who had a very good round of 20 points. Balls were won by Wendy Clift, Lyn Banks 18, Julie Leckie 17 and Narelle Rutter 14 on a countback.

A good way to start 2017 could be with a game of golf on New Year’s Day. A social 4 person Ambrose will be played which is open to all for $10 per player.
