THE Scone lady golfers have been on the road in recent weeks with the ladies playing at Quirindi on April 19. Noreen Marshall and Narelle Rutter were runners up on the day. A day of hospitality and friendship was enjoyed with visitors from Werris Creek and Nundle involved also.

In the ladies Hunter River District Pennant the Scone team had a win over Cessnock at Singleton in round 5. Wins went to Lyn Banks, Julie Leckie and Annie Woods with Kerry McLennan having a square. In round 6 played at The Vintage, Scone took on Hunter Valley with Noreen Marshall winning her match 1 up. Unfortunately, three other matches were lost on the 18th and two on the 16th in a closely contested match. An exciting final round will be played at Muswellbrook on May 1 when four teams, Hunter Valley, The Vintage, Singleton and Muswellbrook will be vying to win the Rosella Shield for 2018.

The men’s Denman Open was well supported by fourteen Scone players on Sunday April 23, with Tony O’Neill winning a 9 hole prize. Aberdeen Open will be held on Sunday April 29.
