SATURDAY December 10 was a perfect day for golf, Ross Banks had his best round on the Scone course to shoot a 3 under par 69.

This equated to 47 points in the 18 Hole Stableford and won him the Scone Sports Store A Grade prize.

B Grade was won by visitor Nic Geist who had 41 points and Scott Lye was very pleased with his round of 45 points to win C Grade.

The Summer Cup was decided with a convincing win to Ross Banks with rounds of 38 and 47 points to total 85, he finished 10 points ahead of Charlie Manning who would have thought 75 was a good score.

The scores were extremely good and some players on 37 points missed out on a ball!

The course rating was 69 reflecting the run and light rough at the moment.

The ball winners were: Ross Banks 47, Scott Lye 45, Les Cottam 43, Nic Geist, Tony Pringle 41, Josh Whittaker 40, George Davidson, Joel Woods 39, David Bradshaw 38, George Campbell, Clayton Rogers, John Murray and David Walters all on 37 on a countback.

In the NTP’s Russell Nicholls was just outside the jackpot on the 2nd / 11th at 1.02 metres, the 8th / 17th was won by Mick Alsleben at 4.28 metres.

On Saturday December 17 Sandy Lettice and Tom Hagan will continue the tradition of their “Ham and Spam” day as sponsors for the 18 Hole Stableford, no doubt most will prefer the ham prizes.

Players are reminded to play round 2 of the Summer Knockout by Saturday December 17 also.

The ladies played the back 9 on Thursday December 8 and Lyn Banks had a fine round of 20 points, 3 over par to win the day.

Wendy Clift and Annie Woods had 18 points to be in the ball winners along with Julie Leckie on 17.

On Thursday December 15 the ladies play for the Kerv Café voucher and then will have a recess until January 12.

On Wednesday December 7 the Red Tee Challenge continued with many players not finding it that much of a challenge.

Enjoying the short course this week were David Casson 28 points, Mick Alsleben, 2 under par for 27 points, and finally organiser Sean Constable won a prize with 27 points on a countback, their handicaps will be duly adjusted.

On New Year’s Day a social four person Ambrose will be played which is open to all with some great prizes on offer.

The long running Keg Trophy day will take on a new meaning as this year it will have something in it, sponsored by Joel Woods and Graham White the day is sure to be well supported.
