IT was a lovely day for golf on Thursday, September 1 at Scone for the ladies playing of the 6th Golf NSW and Monthly Medal.

On a heavy course Kerry McLennan had her personal best scratch score to record 67 nett, win the Melanie’s Jewellers Trophy and further reduce her handicap.

Marie Murray with 73 nett was runner up.

In the NTP’s on the 8th / 17th only the Division 2 ball was won by Kerry.

Those to win balls were: Kerry McLennan 67, Marie Murray 73, Sarah Brooks 74, Ann Cameron and Kathy Robinson both on 78.

On Thursday, September 8 the ladies will play a 2B Stableford for the 2 M’s Trophy, donated by Marie Murray and Margie Hart, with an individual in conjunction.

In contrast, the men golfers had an awful day in the wind on Saturday, September 3.

A small field braved the conditions and played an 18 Hole Stroke / Stableford for the Scone RSL Group Monthly Mug.

Troy Collison had a fabulous round in the conditions of 70 nett to be the mug winner.

Mark Hayes also had a good round of 73 nett to be runner up.

Balls were won by: Troy Collison 38, Mark Hayes 35, Kevin Thompson 34, Adam Moore and David Adams both on 33 points.

Phil McGuirk cleaned up in the NTP’s with 5.95 metres on the 2nd / 11th and 5.57 metres on the 8th / 17th.

On Saturday, September 10 the men will play an 18 Hole Stableford for the O’Donnell Family Trophy.

There is something for everyone on the weekend of September 17 and 18.

The Scone Open mixed event is on Saturday with a men’s FB as well, and the major men’s event is on Sunday with visitors expected from throughout the valley.

Book in at the club for your requested time.
