Scone Golf: Sept 22 – 24

IT was a dismal and windy day and the course was still very wet when the Scone lady golfers played on Thursday, September 22.

The winner of the 18 Hole Stableford for the Susie MacIntyre Trophy was Lyn Banks who had 31 points to beat Sarah Brooks on a countback.

Sarah won the NTP on the 17th at 2.98 metres.

Ball winners were: Lyn Banks, Sarah Brooks 31, Fiona Groom 29 and Marie Murray 25 points.

On Thursday, September 29 the event will be an 18 Hole Individual Stableford & 2B Multiplier for the Elizabeth Kevans and Steph McGuirk Trophy.

Saturday, September 24 was a pleasant day and a good field turned out to play.

It was an 18 Hole Medley Individual Stableford and 2B Multiplier for the Whitehead Family Trophy on the Jason Whitehead Memorial Day.

Some players dressed up for the “Fashions On The Course” day to try and win the Phil McGuirk and Gordon Halliday prizes.

The winners of the 2 ball multiplier were Scott Shann and Kallen Brownlee who had a creditable 82 points.

In the individual stableford the A Grade winner was Steve Morse with 40 points whilst Glen Tarrant won B Grade with 37 points.

The score of the day was by Brendan King who had 41 points to win C Grade.

The ladies winner was Annie Woods who had a very good round for 40 points.

The NTP on the 2nd / 11th was won by Steve Morse at 1.22 metres and on the 8th / 17th John Roe’s shot to 1.55 metres was the best.

The ball winners were: Brendan King 41, Annie Woods, Steve Morse 40, Kallen Brownlee 39, Scott Reid, Adam Russell 38, Glen Tarrant, Scott Shann 37, John Roe, Wayne Hedley, Geoff Barton, Col Solway 35, Duncan Yuille, Sean Constable, Adrian Fuller 34, Tim Smith, Phil McGuirk 33 and Joel Woods 32.

On Saturday, October 1 the men will play and 18 Hole Stroke / Stableford for the Scone RSL Group Monthly Mug.

On Monday October 3, golfers and non-golfers are welcome to come and play a 9 Hole 4 person Ambrose on the long weekend starting at 2pm.

October is Golf Month and to support this Golf Australia initiative a “Come and Try” day will be held at Scone Golf Course on Sunday October 9.

Turn up between 10.30am and 2pm for lots of fun for the whole family and a sausage sizzle around lunch time.
