Scone Golf: Sept 27 – Oct 1

ON Saturday, October 1 the Scone golfers played an 18 Hole Stroke / Stableford for the Scone RSL Group Monthly Mug.

The winner was Jim Elder who had 70 nett.

The A Grade winner was Clayton Rogers on 34 points whilst the C Grade winner was Red Palmer who had 37 points which was the equal second best score of the day.

Warren Styles and Red Palmer won the NTP’s with 1.45 metres on the 2nd / 11th and 1.39 metres on the 8th /17th respectively.

Balls went to: Jim Elder 38, Red Palmer, Tony O’Neill 37, George Davidson 35, Clayton Rogers 34, Ross Banks, Warren Styles, Brad Hockley 33 and David Druce 31 on a countback.

Next Saturday the event is an 18 Hole Stableford for the Dawson and Dawson Realty Trophy.

Players are reminded that the Club Championships are the next big event on the golfing calendar to be played over four rounds on October 15, 16, 22 and 23. Entries are also being called for in the Summer Knockout by October 29.

All players are reminded that the Mixed Foursomes Championship played over 18 holes, is set for November 6, so players should start to arrange their partners.

The ladies again had their golf interrupted by the weather on Thursday September 27.

The final Monthly Medal will be played for on October 6 for the Melanie’s Jewellers Trophy.

Anyone who would like to try golf is welcome to come along to the October is Golf Month “Come and Try” day on Sunday October 9.

Turn up between 10.30am and 2pm for lots of fun for the whole family.

In other social golf the popular daylight saving summer competition returns starting on Wednesday October 5.

Come along and try your game from the red tees. This is for members and non-members and is only $10 a game.
