LAST weekend concluded our round games for the year and finals commence this weekend.

There is a lot happening over the next three weeks so please be sure to read carefully!

Maitland Junior Carnival

Money is due this Saturday $10 for under 10s’ and $20 for under 13’s and under 16’s. Perhaps there is a parent that maybe willing to do it? Socks to be worn are the rep royal blue and white. If you have them already, please be sure to pack them. There will be socks available on the morning but numbers are quite low. Shirts will be handed out by team coaches on Sunday morning, not before so please do not ask for them on Saturday. Shirts are to be return to the coaches at the conclusion of the day so that they can be kept together. Arrival time for the day is 7:30am. Games start at 8:00am. A draw has not yet been released.

Fundraiser Evening

Don’t forget our annual fundraiser evening on Saturday, August 27 at the Royal Hotel Scone. Information has been sent out previously, if you are unable to find it please refer to our facebook page or website www.sconehockey.org.au for details. Names and money for the evening are being taken at the Scone Sports Store. We had a number of junior parents support this last year and hoping for the same this year. It is not just a senior player function. A raffle is currently up and running and raffle tickets will be available from the canteen on Saturday, so if you can’t join us on the evening you can show your support by purchasing of raffle tickets. For those coming from Muswellbrook, you need to advise if you will be requiring the bus that is being organised.

Junior Presentation

As always, the junior presentation will be held at the conclusion of the under 17’s Grandfinal on Saturday, September 3. This is for all minkey, under 12’s and under 17’s players. The presentation will commence at approximately 11am. There will be an amusement hire activity together with a free sausage sizzle to all junior players. All players receive something!

Major/Minor Semi Finals

This weekend will see the start of the semi-final series. Please note that times are brought forward to allow extra time to be played if need be. In the event of extra time, there will be a five minute break at the conclusion of full time. Teams will retake the field and play 10 minutes, each way if required, golden goal. To clarify any confusion, the first of either team to score during this time wins and the remainder of the time IS NOT played out. If there is still no result at the end of this then the teams will proceed to running strokes until there is a winner.

Junior teams playing in the minor semi- final are asked to bring a spare shirt. The team not making it through to the final the following week will be required to hand their playing shirt back to their team coach on the day.

The senior women’s has been split into A and B Division. The loser of the Women’s A Minor will drop back to B Division and play the loser of the Women’s B Major.
