THERE was no hockey last weekend due to the school holidays, but it will recommence this Saturday, July 16.

The next general meeting will be held at 7pm Thursday July 14 at the Royal Hotel Scone.

It is asked that a representative from each senior team be present together (if possible).

Any other players or parents are most welcome to attend and discuss the washed out games.

Women’s masters training is at 12 noon on Saturday and will continue each week until they travel away.

Congratulations to Olivia Ryan, Phoebe Cox, Hariette Firth, Alby O’Regan, Heidi Edlington and Sophia Bell who represented the Hunter Hockey Association at the under 13’s State Championships in Wagga Wagga on July 1, 2 and 3.

Due to the heavy rain in the lead up to the weekend the draw was rearranged and all games were played on turf.

Our girls did really well as they played teams who play on turf all the time.

Over the weekend they played against Canberra 2, Canberra 3, Goulburn 2, and Central Coast 2.

The girls finished 4th after playing the semi-final against Goulburn 2, the number one team in their pool, narrowly going down 2 – nil.

A NSW official remarked that it was the best division 4 game of the weekend.

The Hunter team received “play the whistle” award for the weekend.

We are extremely proud of the girls and commend them on their efforts and sportsmanship over the weekend.
