1080 Cattle were yarded this week in a yarding that mainly consisted of trade cattle and weaner stock with some very good lines of weaners.

Export cattle were very light on with very few yarded, not all buyers were at full strength selling to firmish rates due to lack of numbers and due to the upcoming easter short week.

Majority of the yarding was made up of vealers and weaners which were stronger again, steers were 5 to 10 cents dearer and heifers were 8 to 12 cents dearer with an extra order in the market.

There was a handful of handy feeder steers on offer which sold to very strong rates, making a lot more than current feedlot operators are paying for their direct orders.

A handful of yearling cattle also sold to strong rates.

There will be a sale next week but not the following day due to it being ANZAC day.

There is a feature weaner sale on Thursday, April 20 starting at 11am with 1000 to 1200 weaners expected.
