THERE was an increased yarding of 1220 cattle with a large penning of plainer yearling and heavier cattle across the board.

Export cattle were of similar numbers with the cow market holding despite the drier hotter conditions over the last few days.

Cows were five to ten cents cheaper but sold reasonably well, bullocks also sold at similar rates.

Butcher calves were of lighter supply and probably suffered the biggest of the day at 20 to 25 cents cheaper.

Feeder steers were cheaper also selling ten to fifteen cents easier, lighter weaners and other steers about 10 cents cheaper.

Lighter weaner steers and heifers were cheaper with steers ten cents and heifers 15 to 20 cents cheaper on last weeks strong market.

Even though the market is easing due to the dry and hotter conditions it has been quite exceptional over the last six months, overall it is still a very good market.
