THERE was 813 cattle penned today in a lighter yarding due to the good rainfall over the weekend and just being wet generally.

Limited numbers presented in most descriptions, fewer export cattle with most of the yarding being plainer overall, some good grain fed cattle but no good lines of store cattle were really available.

Cows were 5 cents dearer selling up to over $2.80 a kilo for the best of them, the best of the bulls made up to $2.40 on a plain yarding.

Little light weaners made up to $4.85 for steers under 200 kilos, their heifer counterparts made up to $4.30.

The best of the yearling steers made up to $3.95.

The overall market was fully firm on last week.
