Scooter Users Ready to Roll

Filed in Recent News by June 29, 2017

A motorised scooter user group is being formed in the Upper Hunter to identify local problem areas.

Chris Hick a local motorised scooter user said, “I would like to see a group come together that can identify where there are issues on the roads and footpaths and how to report those to the proper authorities.”

Lee Watts, manager of the Scone Neighbourhood Resource Centre said they supported the formation of the group, which could include users from across the Shire area and was also pleased to announce local users could now access a local scooter mechanic who can make home visits.

“I think the group is a great idea, they use our footpaths and roads and they know the problem areas first hand,” said Mrs Watts.

“We’ve also organised Upper Hunter Shire Council staff to look at existing pathways and gutters, to discuss future works and what are the issues for motorised scooter users living in the Upper Hunter Shire,” she said.

“We are also pleased to announce that Jock McKenzie, a local scooter mechanic will now be available to make home visits to repair scooters,” she said.

“There will be no set dates for bookings as Mr McKenzie will be able to come to your house shortly after your booking is made,” Lee Watts said.

Simply phone the Scone Neighbourhood Resrouce Centre 02 6545 2562 to:
