Security in Scone

Annie Baker, the owner of Asser House Cafe which was broken into on the weekend, thinks it would be good to unify as a business community and use a Scone based security company to patrol locally.

“If we all chipped in a bit of money it wouldn’t be much and then we’d all have some protection,” said Annie.

Currently some businesses use out of town based organisations, but after they are leave Scone to patrol other towns, thieves are aware they won’t be back for the night.

The idea has been put forward to the Ben Wyndham the President of the Scone Chamber of Commerce and he believes it is worth investigating.

“Especially with the ‘re-engineering’ occurring with the local police force and the real prospect of fewer police we need to look at all solutions to help businesses be more secure,” Mr Wyndham said.
