LOCAL churches are coming together to celebrate the contribution of people in the emergency, health and community care services and invite members of the community to take the opportunity to thank them.

A church service will be held at St Luke’s Anglican Church on Sunday, November 13 at 5pm, followed by a high-tea in the hall.

Jenny Sylvester, member of St Luke’s parish said there is a long list of service people in our community who deserve our recognition and thanks.

“There are the police, ambulance, fire, rural fire, the SES, people at Strathearn, meals on wheels, Transcare, many community health people and people who are carers for others in our cmmunity,” Ms Sylvester said.

“Everyday, the sound of sirens and the sight of community transport vehicles remind us of the many courageous and dedicated people who serve our community in the emergency, health and community care services,” she said.

“If you work paid or voluntary for any of the emergency, community care or health services in Scone, you and your family are warmly invited to attend the event at St Luke’s Anglican Church in Liverpool Street, Scone,” she said.

“All those in the community who would like to show their appreciation, give thanks to God and pray for their work are welcome,” Jenny Sylvester said.
