Spring Calves Workshop

TAKE the headache out of deciding when to wean calves early and well during a drought by tapping into expert advice, encourages Hunter Local Land Services.

Bill Hoffman, beef consultant will be running a workshop covering:

  • successful formulas to maximise calf survival and growth rates;
  • cow and calf units needing double the feed of a dry cow;
  • cows and calves weaned and fed separately require approximately 30% less feed;
  • early weaning can improve cow body weight, cycling and conception rates, and
  • open floor discussion time with local stock agents.
