FOR Edan Tickle it seems nothing can take the shine off playing cricket with the Wanderers in Barbados, even an impromptu trip to the dentist following an accident in the surf.

While his mum, Fiona Tickle, is in Aberdeen and understandably worried about his three loose teeth following a collision with a boogie board in the surf, Edan is still playing cricket.

“He said the spin bowler he was facing was bowling 130 kilometres an hour and he could hardly see the ball, but he did really well he was first batsman out there and he got 44 so that’s pretty good in those circumstances,” said Ms Tickle.

“And he said he took a good catch and this is with his teeth and his face all swollen; my husband reckons he can’t be on death’s door if that’s the case,” she said.

“He sent me a photo this morning and his face is swollen like a balloon, but that’s Edan he’ll still play cricket.

“The boys are really enjoying cricket tour, they had a great day at Kensington Oval to watch the finals of the Tri- Nation one day series between Australia and West Indies,” she said.

“They were pumped when Australia won and they got to see the Australian team with some of the boys given Australian team caps,” Fiona Tickle said.

The boys have already played two games, have another game in the morning.
