Cattle being sold at the Scone saleyards.

THERE were 1457 cattle penned with the market easing for nearly all descriptions and a slight increase in export cattle.

Heavy cows sold for 5 to 8 cents cheaper, plainer cows only 3 to 4 cents cheaper.

A few good bullocks were penned and they were firm to 5 cents cheaper.

Export heifers slipped 5 to 10 cents.

Majority of the trade yarding was made up of weaners and plainer yearling types, which due to the dry season evolving saw fewer finished cattle penned.

Weaner steers and heifers slipped 10 to 15 cents for good lines, while second and inferior scores were more in places.

Very few finished cattle were on offer and they sold to firm rates.

There is a weaner sale on Thursday, April 21 starting at 11am and also specked park sale on Saturday April 30.
