Strathearn Welcome the Community

Filed in Recent News by November 15, 2018

ON Saturday, the staff and residents of Strathearn are opening their home, putting on a BBQ and entertainment, the whole community is invited and you can bring your pet.

There will be face painting, music by the Scone Grammar School, a cake stall, raffles, trash and treasure, judging of the colouring in competition and the chance to show off your pet in the pet parade.

People will be able to look through the facilities of Strathearn Village and the new Strathearn House, with a shuttle bus going between the facilities and a first look at the new Barrington Cottage.

Anna Wilson, from HammondCare said it is the ideal time to learn more about Strathearn facilities, the range of aged care services, including in-home care, in a fun and relaxed environment.

“It is ideal for people who are thinking about their future, or family members thinking about how they can care for their mum and dad,” said Ms Wilson.

“Often people put off thinking about aged care until something happens and suddenly they have to make a lot of decisions and might not realise there were other options,” she said.

“It is much easier to learn about all the options available and educate yourself before you need support,” she said.

“And there are many services we offer in people’s home, in-home respite for carers and the Elderwise is a great social program for people in the community held Monday through until Friday from 8am-4pm,” she said.

“It’s just a great opportunity to see all the options available and help decide which care suits people,” Anna Wilson said.
