Wildlife Aid

Wildlife Aid is a local animal rescue, care and release organisation which cares for wildlife in the Upper Hunter and are licensed by the National Parks & Wildlife NSW and the Office of Environment and Heritage. WIRES does not have a local branch in the Upper Hunter area. Wildlife Aid can be reached on: T: 0429 850 089.

Snake Removal

Wildlife Aid also assist with snake removal. Tips from Wildlife Aid:

• Do not try to capture or kill the snake; it is the cause of more than 90% of hospital admissions for snake bite in Australia.
• Call Wildlife Aid on 0429 850 089 to have the snake removed.
• If possible, from a safe distance, keep track of the snake’s location until a rescuer arrives.
