Training
- Training is undertaken at the Scone SES Unit each Wednesday night at 7pm.
- Training certificates are nationally accredited.
Overview
- The Scone SES Unit is part of NSW State Emergency Services.
- The local volunteers provide emergency and rescue services for the township of Scone.
- There are also opportunities for out of area support for other emergency and rescue operations.
- There are 14 volunteers based out the unit.
- The main focus for the local SES are storm and flood operations.
- Annually they respond to approximately six calls for storm and flood assistance in Scone.
- Local SES also assist with crowd and traffic control during community events.
Becoming a local SES Volunteer
- If you are interested in becoming a volunteer at your local SES unit, call the unit directly or call for an information pack T: 1800 201 000.
- People who are over 18 years of age and are fit and well may qualify to become a volunteer.
- There is also a cadet programme for people who are 16 years of age, who can be trained in general rescue, but they may not be operational until they are 18 years old.
