Thunderstorm and Chance of Hail

APPROXIMATELY 4.4ml of rain fell in Scone during the last 24 hours and between 10 and 15 ml was recorded across the Liverpool Range.

Today the Bureau of Meteorology has predicted thunderstorms in the Upper Hunter with the possibility of wind gusts of up to 90 kilometres an hour and hail.

“Keep an eye on our warnings if thunderstorms do become active we are anticipating strong winds and hail, currently there is no warning, but we do aim to warn an hour before so that people can take precautions,” said Jiwon Park of the Bureau of Meteorology.

The thunderstorm is likely to be fast moving and only deliver 2 to 5 mls, although there is a chance of heavier localised rainfall.

On Thursday there may also be thunderstorms, but only 2-5mls of rain is predicted.
