AUSTRALIAN Pacific Coal, which recently raised capital to purchase Dartbrook mine, has halted share trading pending a federal court decision on the financial position of its managing director, Nathan Tinkler.

Yesterday the federal court declared Mr Tinkler bankrupt, but Mr Tinkler will appeal the decision.

GE Commercial Australasia is claiming $2.8 million in relation to a dispute over a private jet dating back to July last year.

Mr Tinkler claimed yesterday he is in a position to pay.

Australian Pacific Coal said in the statement to the market that it expected to recommence trading when the market opens tomorrow.
