The Australian Rail Track Corporation has advised safety investigators have been called to conduct an assessment, emergency services were notified ad the train crew did not sustain any injuries.

The ARTC will review any track damage and decide what is required for repair and estimate time frames for when services may be able to resume on the line.

The derailment caused two level crossings to be activated and ARTC staff attended and advised police of traffic issues.

The line had only reopened at 8pm on Friday, following planned track work in the Scone area.
