Like many local residents Ms Wicks is frustrated by the delays for emergency services and even questions if the train should have stopped to allow the ambulance through.

“The train hadn’t reached the crossing when I became aware of the ambulances,” said Ms Wicks.

The train could’ve stopped in my opinion,” she said.

“In the scheme of things 5 to 8 minutes is life and death,” Courtney Wicks said.

Rail services are able to stop trains in emergencies, scone.com.au will submit questions to the Australian Rail Track Corporation for how they may be able to work more closely with emergency services in these instances.
