Driver Confirmed Deceased

THE 68 year old female driver of a Hyundai involved in a head on collision near Parkville this morning has been confirmed deceased.

The driver who was from Queensland was believed to be the grandmother of the little girl who was also in the vehicle and will be flown to John Hunter Hospital.

It is understood other family members were travelling in a separate car and were present at the accident scene.

The 51 year old woman from Wingen, who was the driver and sole occupant of the Mercedes is at the Scott Memorial Hospital in Scone is in a stable condition and is being treated for leg and suspected spinal injuries.

She will be flown to the John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle for further treatment.
