Upper Hunter Performs Well

HORSES from the Upper Hunter again performed well at the Inglis Easter sales yesterday including a filly from Cressfield which was one of the first Frankel progeny at the sale, which fetched $850,000.

She was purchased by Kastumi Yoshida and will race for Yoshida’s northern farm in Japan.

Yoshida said, “The filly walks very well and she is the Frankel we wanted.”

“The dam line has produced some top stayers so she is well-suited to racing in Japan,” Yoshida said.

Arrowfield sold a colt sired by Not A Single Doubt and from dam Colorado Clare for $850,000 which set a new record for the sire.

From further down the Valley, Coolmore claimed top price of the day with a colt which is full brother to Lankan Rupee from Redoute’s Choice and Estelle Collection for $1.8 million.

Coolmore also sold a filly by Fastnet Rock and Hips Don’t Lie for $1.1 million.

And Widden Valley sold Shamal Wind’s half-brother by Sebring for $700,000.

There was an 81% clearance rate and 291 lots sold at an average of $281,211.
