THE 28 Veteran golfers at Scone played a novelty stableford event on Tuesday, June 13 – they were only allowed three golf clubs and a putter!

The treasurer Bob Minch shouted everyone lunch to boot, the scores were not affected and the usual suspects did best.

Winner – Captain Max Holz 41 points, 2nd Bob Minch 40 C/B, 3rd Rod Upton 40 and 4th Terry Mitchell 38, so do we really need 14 clubs?

Balls went to Gary Morley 36, Rod Auld, Graham Boles and Mal Bruce OBE 34, Lyn Banks, Reg Davidson, Jim Coward, President Phil Ledgerwood and Paul Gorman 33.

The Bradman trophy of two balls, kindly donated by Gary Morley went to Graham Guest.

Nearest the Pins:    2nd & 11th Bob Fry     8th Terry Mitchell     17th Max Holz

Tuesdays:

  • June 20 stableford at Denman,
  • June 27 stroke & putting at Aberdeen (medal),
  • July 4 two-person ambrose at Muswellbrook.
