Veteran’s Golf: April 4

The clouds and showers did not deter the 31 Vets who came to Aberdeen Golf Club on Tuesday, April 4 for a stroke and putting round.

The freshly cut fairways were a delight.

Welcome to new member Bob Fry from Singleton.

Unfortunately Paul Gorman has resigned as president of the vets as he has been elected to that role for Muswellbrook Golf Club.

We welcome Phil Ledgerwood as our new president.

A big big thank you to the ladies Sue Wilks, Julie Berick and Helen Wheatley for catering for us for lunch with pies and veges – much appreciated.

Gerrit de Boer did best with nett 64 from Jeff McKeon second 67 C/B, 3rd Captain Max Holz, 4th Robert Colbert 68, 5th Peter Leehy 69 and 6th Milton Reid 71.

Balls went to Peter Daunton, Terry Mitchell, Jock O’Connor and Brian White 72, Jim Elder 73, George Smith and Bob Fry 74 and on 75 Bob Thorley, Bob Minch, Les Brown and Wayne Murphy.

Future Games: Tuesdays – April 11, stableford at Scone and April 18 stableford at Denman.

We will decide at a meeting next week at Scone whether we will play our usual game on Anzac Day.
