Thirty-nine degrees was the forecast for the Vets’ golf at Aberdeen on Tuesday, 12th February but 24 tough Vets came to play on the well-maintained course.

Aberdeen must be Brian Dever’s favourite course – he won with nett 62. Second was Lindsay Hodge and 3rd was Gary Morley both with 66 C/B. 4th was Terry Mitchell 69.

Nearest the Pins:   4th Elie Raad   7th Lindsay Hodge   9th/18th Brian Dever   16th Captain Phil Ledgerwood.

Balls went to Elie Raad and Greg Squires 71, Jeff McKeon and Rod Auld 72 and on 73 Treasurer Bob Minch with his new knee, keeper of the greens Doug Dowell, Tony Pearson and Les Brown.

The Bradman’s Trophy, kindly donated by Gary Morley, was won by Gary Gray.  The best scratch score was recorded by Terry Mitchell with 81 C/B. The putting wine, kindly donated by Aberdeen Recreation Club, was won by Gary Morley with 23 putts!
