Veteran’s Golf: February 26

Early autumn weather was enjoyed by the 27 Vets at Aberdeen Golf Club when they played a stroke and putting event on Tuesday, 26th February. Doug Dowell has the greens looking good and playing truly.

Winner was Graham Boles with nett 65 from Doug Dowell 2nd 66 C/B, 3rd Brian Dever 66, 4th Tony Pearson 67 and 5th Captain Phil Ledgerwood 68 C/B.

Balls went to Rod Auld and Graham Huggins 68, Gary Morley and Red Palmer 69, Jim Elder, Reg Davidson and Gerrit de Boer 70 and Ross Banks and Graham Guest 71.

The best scratch score (77) was recorded by Phil Ledgerwood. The putting wine, kindly donated by Aberdeen Recreation Club, went to Doug Dowell with 27 putts. The Bradman’s Trophy, kindly donated by Gary Morley was won by Lindsay Hodge.

FUTURE WEEKS:

  • Unfortunately, Scone Golf Course is NOT available until further notice.
  • March 5 at Murrurundi 2-person ambrose;
  • March 12 at Muswellbrook STFD (not Scone);
  • March 19 at Denman STFD;
  • March 26 at Aberdeen S & P.

Hit-offs by 8.30 am. The Week of Golf at Muswellbrook will take place from March 18 until March 22. Note: During the WoG, there will be a par 3 event at Aberdeen with a free BBQ on Wednesday, March 20th, beginning at 12.30 pm. During the WoG there will be a new shield played for, on Hitachi Day Tuesday, March 19, in honour of George T Smith.
