Veteran’s Golf: January 23

IT was very hot for golf on Tuesday, January 23 but 22 veterans turned up to play anyway at Aberdeen for their stroke and putting event.

Jock O’Connor won the day with nett 62 and 75 off the stick, from Doug Dowell 2nd on 63, Wayne Murphy 3rd on 65 and Bob Thorley 4th with 67 (all local members).

Balls went to Treasurer Bob Minch 69, Brian Dever and Red Palmer 70, Rod Auld 71, Greg Squires 72, Captain Phil Ledgerwood, Secretary Graham Guest and Jeff McKeon 73 and Paul Gorman and Emil Battista 74.

The putting wine went to Doug Dowell with 26 putts C/B. The Bradman trophy, kindly donated by Gary Morley was won by George T Smith.

Hit–offs are by 8.00am on Tuesdays with shot-gun starts arranged by the expert Phil.
