Veteran’s Golf: March 13

A beautiful autumn day for golf for the 24 Vets who played a stroke and putting event at Aberdeen where the much greener fairways had been kindly trimmed allowing lots of run, was enjoyed on Tuesday, March 13.

Scoring was keen with lots of scores in the 60s. Graham Guest was tops with nett 64 from Graham Boles 66 second C/B from Ross Banks 3rd and the keeper of the greens Doug Dowell 4th 67 C/B.

Balls went to Bob Thorley 67, Jim Elder and Peter Daunton 68, Lindsay Hodge and Rod Auld 69, Vice-Captain Rod Upton and Terry Mitchell 71, Red Palmer 72 and Gerrit de Boer and Paul Gorman 74.

The best scratch score was recorded by Ross Banks with 73 off the stick. The putting wine kindly donated by the Aberdeen Recreation Club went to Graham Boles with 25 putts C/B. The Bradman trophy kindly donated by Gary Morley went to Julie Berick.

Future Games:

  • Monday March 19 until Friday, March 23 is the Week of Golf at Muswellbrook.
  • Tuesday, March 20: For those not playing in the WoG there is a stableford game at Denman on Tuesday.
  • Tuesday, March 27: Our game has been transferred from Denman to Murrurundi – 2 person Ambrose – due to the wash-out at Murrurundi on March 6.
  • Tuesday, April 3: stableford at Denman.

All Tuesday games hit-of by 8am.
