There was a close finish with lots of count-backs at the Vets’ golf at Aberdeen Golf Club on Tuesday, March 14 when 21 vets played a stroke and putting event.

The course is in its usual well maintained state and is looking for some good rain, thank you to all the volunteers who care for this great sporting resource.

Rod Auld did best with nett 65 on count-backs from John Tyrrell 2nd, Ross Banks 3rd and Captain Max Holz 4th on 66.

Balls were won by Jim Elder 66, Bob Minch and Bob Thorley 67, Reg Davidson 68, President Paul Gorman 69 and Graham Huggins and Graham Turvey 71.

The best scratch score was by Ross Banks with 73 and the putting port, kindly donated by the Aberdeen Sport and Recreation Club, was won by Phil Ledgerwood with 28 putts.

Nearest the Pins: 4th hole Paul Gorman, very close indeed, 7th Peter Daunton, 9th/18th Graham Huggins, 13th Max Holz, very close indeed as well.
