Veteran’s Golf: Nov 23

A record 39 Vets played a stroke with putting event at Aberdeen Golf Club on Tuesday, November 22 on a hot and still morning.

Welcome to visitor Jim Coward from Singleton and welcome back Pam Minch  after her recent surgery.

On a close result Tommy Thompson won with nett 63 on a count-back from Doug Dowell 2nd, Greg Squires 64 third, Jock O’Connor 67 fourth, and Martin Byrne and Graham Boles 5th and 6th C/B 68.

Balls went to Bruce Robinson, Graham Turvey and “junior” Vet Glen Googe 68, Brian Dever, Bob Keating, Peter Daunton and Rod Auld 69 and all on 70 Terry Mitchell, George T Smith (who turns OBE on Wednesday, November 23), Des Partridge, Phil Ledgerwood, Ross Banks and Bob Thorley.

Best scratch score: Bruce Robinson 76.

Putting port, kindly donated by Aberdeen Creation Club goes to Jock O’Connor 27 putts.

Nearest the Pins: 4th Les Brown, 7th Phil Ledgerwood, 9th/18th Jim Coward, 13th Red Palmer and 16th Bruce Robinson.

On Tuesday, November 29 we play a stableford event at Murrurundi and on Tuesday, Dec 6 we play a stableford event for Christmas prizes at Muswellbrook with hit-offs by 8am please.
