YESTERDAY we said “thank you and farewell” to our Vets long-standing and dynamic captain Max Holz.

He will be around the Upper Hunter for a while yet, especially on December 6 at the Presentation Dinner and we acknowledge the fine work he has done and wish him and Nellie all the best for their future on the coast.

It was great to have Peter and Dixie Ingram along as visitors.

Thirty-six Vets played a stroke and putting event at Aberdeen on Tuesday, October 24, the winner was Greg Squires with nett 63, 2nd Rod Auld 67, 3rd Bob Thorley 68, 4th Terry Mitchell 69, 5th Des Partridge 70 C/B and 6th Brian Payton 70.

In the final of the monthly medal-type Jack White Trophy event with qualifying games played over the year, the winner was Rod Auld.

Balls went to Brian Payton and Paul Gorman 70, John Tyrrell, Captain Max Holz and Andy Medway 71, Jeff McKeon 72, Reg Davidson and Bob Minch 73, Jim Coward 75 and Red Palmer, President Phil Ledgerwood, Doug Dowell, Graham Guest and Bob Keating 76.

After the AGM the new executive is: President – Paul Gorman, Vice President – Rod Upton, Secretary – Graham Guest, Treasurer – Bob Minch, Captain – Phil Ledgerwood, Vice Captain – Graham Turvey.

  • November 28- Stableford at Murrurundi with Christmas prizes.
