Veteran’s Golf Report: April 24

The 24 golfers and the hundreds of corellas at Aberdeen Golf Club on Tuesday, April 24 were crying out for rain for the Upper Hunter when 24 Vets played a stroke and putting event. Thank you to Treasurer Bob Minch and the catering ladies of the Aberdeen Bowling Club for paying for and supplying lunch, respectively.

Brian Dever won the day with nett 64 from Captain Phil Ledgerwood 65, with Ross Banks 3rd 67 and Red Palmer 4th 68.

Balls went to Graham Guest 69, Doug Dowell and Bob Lawman 70, Peter Daunton, Gary Gray, Rod Auld and Lindsay Hodge 71(including an eagle 3 on the 6th hole) and Lyn Banks, Jim Elder and Graham Turvey 72.

The best scratch score was recorded by the Captain with 72. The putting wine kindly donated by Aberdeen Recreation Club was won by Gary Morley with 25 putts (9 putts on the back nine with two gobblers). The Bradman trophy kindly donated by Gary Morley was won by George T Smith.
