Veteran’s Golf: Sept 12

It’s so dry in the Upper Hunter this spring so far, but Muswellbrook Golf Course was in top condition for the 30 Vets who contested the historical Keith Bluford Shield on Tuesday, September 12.

The winner for 2017 is Jim Elder who won in a very closely contested count-back (two four-pointers in the back six holes) with 40 stableford points from Les Brown.  Third was Bob Minch 38, 4th President Phil Ledgerwood 37 C/B and 5th Bob Thorley.

Balls went to Graham Boles 36, Rod Upton 35, Terry Mitchell, Pam Minch, Sheree Piskorz and Andy Medway 34, Jeff McKeon 33, Des Partridge and Elie Raad 32 and Jim Coward 30.

The Bradman Trophy kindly donated by Gary Morley was won by Mal Bruce OBE.

  • September 19 at Aberdeen (a novelty even arranged by Gary Morley)
  • September 26 at Aberdeen, stroke and putting. Hit-offs by 8.00 am please.

We are waiting for replies from some Upper Huner golf courses before we can finalise the Vets’ 2017 / 2018 Program – October 2017 till September 2018.

Don’t forget our trip to Henbury on Thursday, October 5. $25 to Bob Minch asap.
