Veteran’s Golf: Sept 26

The greens were in top condition for the Vets when 25 members played their stroke with putting event at Aberdeen Golf Club on Tuesday, September 26. Happy 42nd wedding anniversary to Captain Max and Nellie Holz for September 20 and congratulations on the sale of the property.

Graham Boles did clearly the best with nett 61 from four others on 67, namely in order Terry Mitchell, Elie Raad, Peter Daunton and Ross Banks.

Balls went to Ross, Bob Minch, Doug Dowell, Graham Guest and Reg Davidson 69, President Phil Ledgerwood, Bob Colbert and Brian Dever 70 and Bob Fry, Peter Leehy and Rod Auld 71.

The putting wine went to Peter Leehy with 27 putts and the best scratch score to Ross Banks: 75. Emil Battista was awarded the Bradman Trophy, kindly donated by Gary Morley.

Nearest the Pins:    4th and 9th/18th Ross Banks, 7th Terry Mitchell.

Games for October and the start of Daylight Saving – Tuesdays:

  • October 3 – stableford at Muswellbrook;
  • October 10 – stableford at Aberdeen;
  • October 17 – stableford at Muswellbrook;
  • October 24 – stroke and putting at Aberdeen with the AGM, the final of the Jack White Trophy event and a free lunch ad
  • October 31 – stableford at Murrurundi. All to have hit-off by 8.00 am of course.

$25 to Bob Minch for our trip to Henbury on Thursday, October 5 with an 8.30 am hit-off.
