Waste Not Want Not

MAINTENANCE on the water reservoir in Barton Street, Scone began last week and the water has been released into Figtree Gully.

scone.com.au was sent photos last week of the water being released and we asked Council the following:

  • How much water was stored in the reservoir?;
  • Why it was released (our understanding is maintenance) but the details of the maintenance?;
  • Why the water was not distributed to areas of the Shire?

The person who sent the images was confounded to see water carts sitting in the Council depot idle, which could have been used to take the precious resource to farmers and people not on town water supply who are currently buying water in a drought.

We have received no answers from Council.
