Filed in Recent News by September 28, 2017

AT midnight tonight Murrurundi will be on level 2 water restrictions due to a drop in the water source levels caused by the ongoing the dry weather conditions.

Watering lawns and gardens is restricted to every second day, properties with an even number street address may only water on an even numbered calendar day and those with an odd numbered address may only water on an odd numbered calendar day.

Other restrictions include:

  • watering the garden may only occur between 6am and 9am and 6pm and 9pm each day;
  • irrigation of new turf can is only permitted for one week after laying;
  • no washing of hard surfaces;
  • no emptying and refilling of pools, but first fill of pools and topping up of water levels is permitted, and
  • cars must be washed with a bucket and rinse with a trigger hose.

The aim of the restrictions is to reduce the average water consumption for each person to 240 litres per day.
