Chopper Missions in May

Filed in Recent News by June 30, 2016

BEFORE we launched scone.com.au we met with the Westpac Rescue Helicopter team to discuss how we could report on all of their local missions.

ChopperRWhen I worked in major hospitals the choppers flying in always caught the attention of visitors and in a small community when a chopper flies in it has another layer of gravity because there is a high chance we will know the person they are flying out.

The work that the team do is critical in areas like ours not only because it is the quickest way to get a patient to a major hospital, but because it delivers a highly specialised team to the patient.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter has a fantastic communications team who recognise the importance of educating the community about their service.

Often before we hear the chopper approach they have already sent us an email to let us know they are on their way, providing the basic details of their mission and at accidents one of the crew will take an image of the scene they are attending.

They are an amazing team who want to people to have a better understanding of how they serve our community.

While we only publish the missions relevant to our area, we thought our readers may be interested in seeing the full scope of their work, so we have attached their mission report for the month of May.
