Scone Films presents Lion

  • What: A film starting Dev Patel, Nicole Kidman, David Wenham and Rooney Mara. Based on an incredible true story. Five year old Saroo gets lost on a train which takes him thousands of miles across India, away from home and family. Saroo must learn to survive alone in Kolkata, before ultimately being adopted by an Australian couple. Twenty-five years later, armed with only a handful of memories, his unwavering determination, and a revolutionary technology known as Google Earth, he sets out to find his lost family and finally return to his first home.
  • When: 7:30pm.
  • Where: Senior Citizen’s Centre, Crn Oxford Road and Cooper Street, Scone.
  • Cost: $12 entry from Hunt-a-Book or at the door. Refreshments available.

Dance for Bushfire Appeal

  • What: A dance to raise funds for the Dunedoo Bushfire Appeal, with local band the Ray Boys.
  • When: 8pm – midnight.
  • Where: Aberdeen Sports and Recreation Club.
  • Cost: Adults $10 and family $25.

Sunday, April 30

Aberdeen Quilt Affair

  • What: A quilt display with markets in the rose garden, quilt sales, fabrics, plants, cards, baby wear and gifts. BBQ and refreshments by Men’s Shed, morning tea provides by St Mark’s Church ladies at the church hall and Caffe Mobilita will be available for tea and coffee.
  • When: 10am – 3pm
  • Where: Crn of Moray and MacQueen Streets: venues around the rose garden including St Mark’s Church hall, Aberdeen RSL and Aberdeen Library.
  • Cost: $5 entry per person which allows entry to all venues.
